The 2015 White team played their final match against Blackburn Utd Yellows before the summer break.
Following last week’s impressive showing, the boys continued their excellent form to get a foothold in the game from the start.
There was some great buildup play with Jenson and Michael using the ball well from the back to get our attacks going with the wide midfielders, Caelen, Aaron and Noah getting down the channels and making some excellent runs and crosses. Kai was solid in midfield, winning all his duels and starting attacks with Dexter making some excellent runs and linking up well with the midfield. Marco deputising in goal was kept relatively quiet by our solid defending but made some good saves when he was called upon.
Blackburn defended well with their goalkeeper making a few good saves but our boys persevered with the breakthrough finally coming midway through the first half with Aaron finding Dexter who finished superbly past the Blackburn keeper.
Our second goal wasn’t far behind with Noah picking the ball up on the right side, beating 3 players and slotting home past the diving keeper which took us into half time.
The second half continued much the same as our boys were playing some cracking football with some quality passing. Shortly after the restart, Dexter made an excellent run down the left, cut back in to cross the ball which evaded everyone and found the bottom corner, to score his second.
Blackburn pulled a goal back as we struggled to clear the ball from a corner but the boys never let their heads drop and were straight back to it.
The game was wrapped up when Kai, who worked tirelessly throughout the game, crossed in from a corner for Aaron to score a well deserved goal.
Tough decision for player of the match this week with all the boys putting a shift in but it goes to Kai for his dominant showing in the middle of the park.
The boys have been steadily progressing week on week and go into the summer break with some excellent performances behind them.
Well done boys! It was a great watch today!
