Neutral league match
The whites took on Bathgate in a Sunday game looking to bounce back from a few tough results.
Marco captained the team and led the boys out after a sharp warm up.
The whites showed early dominance and were playing some good football. With some excellent passing, we were creating a few chances but lacking the finishing touch.
The breakthrough finally came near the end of the first half when Caelen played the ball to Kai from a kick in who saw his long range effort slip under the Bathgate keeper to open the scoring.
Into the second half and the whites started where they left off, dominating the ball and play. Kai picked the ball up in the middle of the park and hammered the ball into the bottom corner of the net from range to double his and the whites tally.
With the bit between their teeth, the whites kept the pressure on and two minutes later, Tom played a through ball from the back finding Noah in space who coolly slotted past the Bathgate keeper.
The final part of the match was relatively even as Bathgate started to get a bit more of the ball. Both sets of players defended really well limiting each team to only a few half chances with the game coming to a close.
Cullen made a couple of good saves and kept a clean sheet which was supported by some solid defending and composure from Jenson, Michael and Tom. Kai showed dominance in midfield winning some good tackles and setting up some excellent attacking moves. Noah worked hard up front closing down really well keeping the pressure on the Bathgate defenders. Caelen and Marco did well out wide defending from the front and getting some good crosses in. Aaron put in a tireless performance out wide and up front with some excellent attacking play as well as some defensive covering runs earning him the referees player of the match.
An excellent all round performance from the whites, well done boys!
