A 30 yard free kick from Aimee in the 88th minute earned us a point away to Longfleet Lionesses.
Always a tough place to play and this game proved no different with both teams evenly matched throughout the game. Longfleet had the early possession and we struggled to get out of our half. An injury to Tess saw a change of positions with Lauren moving into midfield and showing her versatility. Chances were minimal for both teams, our defence was staying strong and Mille was keeping us in the game with a couple of good saves. The best chance of the half came for us as some good build up work from Molly played in Liv J but the Longfleet keeper somehow got back across to make a save.

The second half started in much the same way, although we had the advantage of the wind behind us. A positional change saw Aimee drop into midfield and Brooke move further forward.
Second half chances for both sides were limited, with Brooke working hard to create opportunities up front. At the other end the defence were holding sting and when Longfleet did break through Millie made a fantastic save to deny them a goal.
As it looked like it would be a rare 0-0 draw we failed to clear a corner and a Longfleet player took the opportunity to smash the ball home to make it 1-0 with just ten minutes remaining. Full credit to the girls, they didn’t give up and on 88 minutes a free kick was awarded for a foul. Aimee placed the ball around 30 yards from goal and smashed her free kick over the wall and past the Longfleet keeper to make it 1-1.
FT 1-1 a well deserved point and a fair result.
