Another trip to Tillingham! But to be honest it's a really nice pitch and a nice venue so I quite like it.
Always a good game against them, and this game was to be no different, but it didn't start off too well!
A tame cross from the wing from the Tillingham player, trickled towards goal and Rusty seemed to think that the ball was going out of play, but unfortunately, he let the ball roll straight into the goal after just 32secs! Not the best of starts.
But like previous games, we seem to have gained a little bit of steel and some fight, and we got back into the game very quickly, with a superb goal from Cameron. Some great work from Fin on the left saw him cross the ball into the area and Cameron Volleyed in from just inside the box.
Another mistake in goal after 14 got Tillingham in front again and ANOTHER mistake right on half time saw us go into the half 3-1 down. A score that did not reflect the 1st half performance at all. Great football and link up play from Cameron & Finley and strong in defence with Thomas & Will.
So we got the boys to concentrate and get back to doing what they do best. Work hard, don't give up and battle hard.
Rusty & will swapped position, and it was will that assisted Finley in getting us back in the game. A long goal kick kick saw fin volley in the top corner!
We were so on top in this game it was unbelievable, and we got back to 3-3 with a superb goal from Cameron. He received the ball on the edge of the area with defender right close to him, but he used his strength, turned him and smashed the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the goal.
But straight after that, Tillingham went back into the lead with a really well worked goal!
But up stepped Finley & Cameron again. Nice one-two from Fin & Cameron on the edge of the area gave Cameron the opportunity so smash the ball in to claim his hat-rick and drew us level.
A few more chances for us, but we just could not get that 5th goal - but an absolutely brilliant game from both teams, and another game I think we deserved to win
