Galleywood! The side that seem to give us a bit of a hiding whenever we play them! So we knew this was going to be a tough game, so the boys knew they had to play very well to compete! But they did just that. Each and every boy battled hard and made it very difficult for Galleywood to play at All.
In previous games against them, we always seem to give early goals away and the heads go down and then it's an uphill battle, but this game was different.
Because we won most of the tackles and stopped their playmaker, they started to get frustrated and became in-effective.
We took the lead just after half time with a goal from Finley. Great work down the wing from Charlie and a cross is the box gave Fin a tap in to take us to half time 1-0.
The 2nd was an unfortunate own goal from them, but we'll take whatever we can as I think we deserve a little luck! So, 2-0 up and playing well with 10 mins to go.
But we just could not hold on! We started to follow the ball when defending and stopped tackling which led to Galleywood scoring 2 goals to get it back to 2-2.
We had lots of opportunities to score more, but needed to be a bit calmer in front of goal.
But all-in-all, a brilliant performance from all the boys against a very good Galleywood side.
