Galleywood 5 - 2 Warriors

Just Another game where we just didn't start from the off! A goal after just 46secs with none of our players even touching the ball, wasn't the best, but it got worse! Another 2 goals in 2 mins meant we were 3 - 0 down after 3mins! Somehow the boys reacted and I think they realised that they needed to improve fast! We started to compete a bit better and started to win tackles. Changes we beginning to come our way with Charlie having a couple of opportunities to score, but up the other end we were still gifting chances. Rusty made some good saves to keep us in the game. But 15mins in they scored another goal from a hesitant, defensive mistake. So it felt like it was going to be just another one of those days against Galleywood! But a great move involving Charlie, Thomas & Cameron, resulting in Cameron scoring from a powerful shot inside the area to give us glimmer of hope before halt-time. Changes were made at the break with Rusty coming out of goal and Cameron taking his place. We started the 2nd half where we left off and scored a great goal 2 mins in. A fantastic, defence splitting pass from Thomas put Charlie through on goal and he smashed the ball into the back of the net! Back in it! We battled hard from then on in, with both sides having chances to score. Cameron made some really good saves but couldn't stop the goal they scored in the 41st min. That goal didn't stop us from making more chances and Charlie kept going and putting some brilliant crosses into the area from wide positions, but we were just not up with play. The final action of the game saw a long shot from Charlie smash back off the post, but all in all, a much better performance after going 3 down. It just goes to show that if youre not 100% ready for the game when it starts, you will always be chasing it! Another early morning - late start by us
