A 55th minute goal from Joe Connor gave the Saints a second win from 2 in the Division 2 cup group stage in a game that wont live long in the memory.
The Quay brought in Cal, Ben and Louis for the missing Cram, Rossy and the injured Alex while there was a return to the squad for Coley, Dec, Brando and Kingy. Ryan McGorrigan captained the Saints for the first time.
In cold conditions both teams struggled to create much in the first half with the Quays best effort from Joe Connor well saved by Stobs keeper Stuart Shanks whilst Dodge in the Saints goal made a fine stop with his legs to to deny the visitors an opener from close range.
Ten minutes after the break the Quay went ahead, Jay Brown outleaped his man to win a defensive header which landed at Maccas feet and he he took a touch before firing a perfect through ball for Connor to run onto and finish for his 3rd goal in the week.
Maccas passing was on another level and found Conway with another terrific pass but his stinging strike was superbly tipped round the post by Shanks.
Fez tapped home a Joe pass but was denied by an offside flag before Shanks produced two more great saves first tipping over a firm Louis strike from 25 yards and then a better one when Jay Brown looked certain to score from a goalmouth scramble but the veteran goalkeeper aged 51 bravely kept the ball out.
Saints keeper Ethan Dodgson was also having a blinder and he came up with two great saves of his own first with a great tip round the post from a Stobswood header and then a brilliant full stretch diving save to deny a quality long range effort that looked destined for the top corner.
Sub Brando ran onto another glorious pass from Captain Maccas but Shanks denied him with another smart save as the Quay looked for the killer second goal.
The final couple of minutes were well seen out by the Quay and they held onto get their 2nd win in 4 days.
