Away league match
The Saints suffered back to back defeats for the first time this season as they suffered a torrid afternoon with Coundon dominant from the first whistle.
The home side went ahead on 7 minutes from the penalty spot after Ellis Burns was adjudged to have brought down there forward, Louis Fitzgeralds penalty squirmed through the hands of Ellis to give Coundon the lead.
Two minutes later Johnson Ballan made it 2-0 after a great first touch from Luke Challinors cross saw him round Ellis to walk the ball into the empty net with the Saints defence awol.
Challinor the right winger but dressing room sweeper then sent over another fine cross that curled around the Saints back 4 but Coundons left winger couldnt connect properly at the back post hitting the side netting.
On the half hour mark Ryan Ferrier should of halved the deficit as he ran onto Ross Thirlaways cut back but his shot was scuffed straight at Coundon keeper Forster Craig before Joe Connor danced past the defence and the keeper before trying one trick too many allowing a defender on the line a chance to get a great tackle in to stop a certain goal.
Just before the half time whistle and minutes after they had hit the post from a corner Coundon made the Quay pay for the missed chances as they scored the killer third goal, another run and cross from Challinor saw his pull back find Ballan who took a touch before rifling a powerful low shot past Burns into the corner.
Just after half time Burns was forced off with an ankle problem with Luke Ord replacing him. Ords first action of the game saw his boot ripped with the weird referee not allowing him to swap to a different boot until the ball went out of play for the third time with his reason being "Because".
Ord next job was to pick the ball out of the net after a long ball over the top saw him and sub Matty Adams in a defensive mix up allowing Ballan to steal in and walk the ball home for the easiest hat trick goal since hat-tricks began.
Both sides made a host of subs as the game died out before the referee gave us a penalty out of nowhere , anyway it was missed as Joes strike was brilliantly saved by Coundon keeper Craig who dived to his left to superbly tip the ball round the post.
Connor was then absolutely wiped out as he ran onto a through ball but the referee somehow waved play on to the dismay of everyone watching including Brandon whose comments saw him red carded as the Saints frustrations boiled over.
Rossy smashed a shot off the post in the final minute to sum up a tragic afternoon with the final whistle following not long after ending a day when everything that go wrong did for the Quay as Coundon out muscled, out ran, out played and simply wanted it more.
Knew it was going to be a bad day when there was no bovril! (Apart from the last one Bungy got!)
