A good performance from the Saints but the Spartans made it 13 wins from 13 for the season.

The Saints made one change Ryan Ferrier coming in for the missing Mark Henderson and took a surprise early lead. Jinking Joe Connor was brought down in the box and after captain Dale Johnson gave him his blessing to take the penalty he stepped up to slot home to put the Quay ahead becoming the first Saints player to score in 8 consecutive league games.

The Saints then shot themselves in the foot as midfielder Liam Taylors loose pass allowed Blyth to run through and equalize just minutes after the Quay took the lead.

Goalkeeper Karl Charlton then gifted the Spartans another goal as he passed the ball straight to there number 9 under no pressure and he made no mistake to make it 2-1 Blyth.

Blyth were on top and they added a third after a long ball caught out the Saints defence and there forward doubled his tally controlling before firing under the body of Charlton.

Joe Connor then grabbed another goal curling home a beauty of striker from 20 yards to reduce the deficit to 3-2 just before half time.

The second half was much more even and the Saints could and should of made it 3-3 as Finlay Rippin spurned a chance and a Blyth defender somehow sliced over his own goal from 6 yards

The home side punished the chances being missed and scored a 4th with ten minutes left to finish the game as a contest Saints heads dropping after being so close to a leveller which resulted in Blyth scoring two more goals late on.
