Wigmore Wanderers 22–0 Rainham 84 Youth Invicta
Wigmore produced a ruthless attacking display at Luton Rec, finding the net 22 times while remaining completely professional from the first whistle to the last.
It took only seven minutes for Jack to open the scoring, before Mottram doubled the lead two minutes later. Jack added his second on 11 minutes, followed by goals from Jason and Henn as Wigmore raced into a 5–0 lead inside the opening 14 minutes.
Henn struck again on 18 minutes before Jason completed his hat-trick with goals in the 21st and 31st minutes. Man of the Match Bailey controlled the game from midfield and added a neat finish on 35 minutes, with James P scoring two minutes before the break to give Wigmore a commanding 10–0 half-time lead.
The pressure continued immediately after the restart. Lundie scored twice inside the opening seven minutes of the second half before Harry got on the scoresheet with a well-taken goal on 57 minutes. Lundie then added another two to complete a superb four-goal haul.
Jack completed his hat-trick on 78 minutes, before Henn and Jason took over once again. Henn scored in the 81st minute, Jason grabbed his fourth two minutes later, and Henn struck twice more in quick succession to finish the match with an outstanding five goals.
Will took his opportunity well to score on 87 minutes, before Bailey rounded off the scoring with his second neat finish of the game in the 89th minute.
Despite the huge scoreline, the most pleasing part was the way Wigmore kept their shape, continued moving the ball and remained hungry throughout. Zach had very little to do but distributed the ball well, while the defence stayed composed and assured. Harry delivered some excellent crosses, Jack created chances throughout, and Brewster’s running caused constant problems.
Bailey earned Man of the Match after controlling the game and adding two composed finishes, but this was a strong contribution from the entire squad.
Credit must also go to Rainham, who continued playing and never gave up despite a very difficult afternoon.
