Referee!

It’s really disheartening when a referee doesn’t get a hold on the game and we do everything right, but decisions do not go our way. Frustrating doesn’t seem strong enough!

However the boys and Sofia managed their own game so well today. Had we closed down and played that way last week, I feel we would have won that last game and gone in to this weeks game with some confidence. We played the better football, passed it well, and actually scored a fantastic goal. They had one player with a one foot wonder, that we just didn’t close down enough.

Part of that is our own concentration and partly comms from the team - everyone has a voice - the more we talk on the pitch the easier these games become. Simple shouts of man on, time, take a touch, go to, square, down the line - I’m hearing these from H constantly, Chayley has a big voice on the pitch, Pheen is communicating well - we just need to ensure we are in it together for 70 minutes.

We can’t do anything about the bad decisions, but play to the whistle and play our game our way.

We need everyone to battle how Ollie C does - get to the ball first, composure on the ball like H and Sofia, pushing forward like Matthew and Alex, clever feet from Pheen and Harrison, keeping your heads and playing like it’s 0-0 week in week out both Harry and Leo, delivery in set pieces from Reece, pace from Ollie H and Chayley, putting yourself about and standing up as a defender like Wyatt and cristiano, and lastly finger tip saves from Luke!
