So 1st league game back after a long break due to covid and the boys hit the ground running despite only having 9 players.
The 1st half was a close affair with both teams trying to figure each other out but going into the 2nd half with the score still at 0-0 Welling switched up a gear and really piled the pressure on.
Massive shout out to Alex making his debut who along with the ever dependable Harlee at the back really frustrated the Long Lane forwards and gave us a solid platform to build from.
In fact it was Harlee who assisted the opening goal with a delightful long ball from midway inside his own half, finding Jaydn who'd make a lovely run in behind and finished calmly slotting past the on rushing GK.
Harlee also played a part in the 2nd goal and despite his requests for another assist, unless it is put on a plate for someone to score I couldn't award it to him. Harlee launched the ball into the air and as it came down Jaydn eyed up the half volley which looped over the GK and into the net, great goal.
Our 3rd goal put the icing on the cake, Monet who defiantly deserved it after putting in a superb performance all game down our left hand side had a simple tap in after Jaydn nearly got his hattrick hitting the post and the ball rolled favorably for our No7.
