In difficult conditions both sets of player did themselves proud. Both teams giving maximum effort. Snipers creating the majority of the chances but Brereton was more than a match effortwise. Louie opening the scoring with a deflected effort beating the keeper, 1-0 to the Wood. Zak was intercepting everything at the back, with Leo there to help when needed, Eric’s safe hands again improving, did well in goal. Brereton got a lucky break when Leo was slightly late & gave away a pen, which was smashed into the top corner, 1-1. Wood hit back, within a short space of time was creating opportunities, with Will, with an assist from Wezza, slotting home to give the wood a 2-1 ht lead.
2nd half was much the same again, Lewis & Jack battling well in midfield, Jay trying to break from defence, Ryan G intercepting a number of attacks, the game was in control. Brandon was having lots of chances, but with quick thinking defenders & a poor pitch, was unable to find his goal. Work rate was top-notch. Then disaster, Jay trying to break from defence which he does so well, got caught in possession & Brereton capitalised with just 3 min to go to equalise, but to be fair it was what they deserved for there effort. A few half chances was created but time ran out, great effort from both sets of players, a very enjoyable game
