Report V Shortlands

Good Morning Boys,

I wanted to start this report by saying consistency at your age just isn't a thing. There are going to be more games like Sunday where we just look like we have never worked on anything! The aim is to have majority of our performances at the level we know we can be. So don't get too down with our individual performances. One bad game doesn't make you a bad team/player.

I thought we were really slow in possession and some of us looked like we couldn't/didn't want to run. Maybe a bit of complacency creeped in thinking we would just roll Shortlands. But as you all realised, they were well up for the game. But boys, we need to want to run/able to run for a game at your age. Some of us looked a bit reluctant and unfit...

I want this as a lesson for all, we must be up for every single game no matter who we're playing. We have to build the habits of performing at a certain level and Sunday just wasn't good enough for 3 periods.

Saying all that, like I said after the game Sunday. The sign of a good team, is when they're having these types of performances, they still find a way to get through. Sunday you done exactly that. Jaxton I thought you really stepped up in the last quarter, Sidney I thought you started to get on the ball and make things happen and Carter your work rate and attitude to win was great.

You need character to be a good team/footballer and Sunday you showed exactly that.

Simeon, some outstanding saves throughout and kept us in the game, well done.

Boys definitely one to learn from but let's take the positives, we will need to come from behind at times this season and we have shown we have that in the locker. The team spirit is strong!!

Ellis, thanks again for stepping Sunday, strong performance??
