Good Afternoon Boys,
Just a quick summary from today's showcase from me and then we can turn our heads to the start of the Cup tomorrow.
Firstly, I thought it was a great experience for you all and it seemed you all really enjoyed yourself which is the most important thing. You all will get many of these opportunities as I touched on at the end because you're all fantastic players.
Some positives from today;
Character - I thought we showed this in near on every game. We came back from losing positions and this just shows the leaders and characters we have in the group. This was really pleasing to see.
Goals - I thought we scored some wonderful goals and played some great football. Tate, fantastic strike. I thought the goal we scored when we played out through James, Sid, Brooks and a really clever pass from Cole with Jude finishing was excellent.
Individual moments - I thought there were some really nice bits individually at times. Jax and Brooks you both provided some great moments along with others. Sid I thought you showed great composure throughout.
Things to think on;
Intensity - This is a big one boys. I thought we were really flat at times. We must make sure we play with more intensity. Whether that is in possession, out of possession and when the game goes dead and restarting it.
Individual battles - Must be stronger in our tackles boys. Too often we hit our tackles but don't come out with the ball. We also need to stop dangling legs. Go in strong and come out with the ball. In the 2nd game, I thought we were much better at this. Once we recognise they were doing it to us and started to do it back which was great.
Movements to receive - We will touch on this tomorrow. But when our pivot has the ball, the front 3 must give angles. The player in possession must have 2/3 options. We can't all stand still and watch the player suffer!!!
Good work boys and great experience. See you all tomorrow!!
