Yes boys,

Another good test as we approach our 2 week break.

I thought it was a great indicator to where we’re at as a group, along with what’s to come next season in regard to the calibre of opposition week in week out.

We started the game with good control, barring a few moments from them I certainly thought we had the better half overall. Gillies and Gabbo you both showed some brilliant work in the traffic, I really liked what I saw from both of you together well done. Our ability to link and switch the play was excellent, at times I think that change of speed we speak about, once we do break the line or do want to get the ball to the other side has to be a little quicker. This will allow us to punish teams and have more penetration to the oppositions back line. Wide players must constantly be thinking how can I get in behind and recognise when this is needed. Ramarn you was a constant threat as soon as you come on and battled superbly well mate, great work.

Out of possession boys I was pleased with how we dealt with their threats for the majority of the game, Moise + Micah winning the majority of the duals in there for us. As a collective, back 4 especially, if you are going to jump and attempt to the win the ball in transition. I need to you be absolutely sure you can win it, across the last few weeks I’ve seen us commit to winning balls you don’t have a right to win, leaving gaps. Can we show more patience to delay the opposition instead of this in future ? Allowing time for recovery runners to get back in.

In this intermittent period of training and games, we will be utilising the time to have another option out of possession to allow us to be a bit braver/on the front foot with teams that to play. I believe this will give us more control in games and punish teams higher up the pitch.

I briefly mentioned the expectation of all you to do two minimum 5ks a week in the breaks we have over the summer. Times to be posted on team stats or sent to myself via email.

Overall we had the better of the chances boys, at this stage of pre season that is positive knowing we had more than enough to win the game. As we the season grows closer we will need that killer ruthlessness to go and win week in week out.

Enjoy your weeks!

Best
