Good Morning Boys,
Hope we all enjoyed the rest of our Sundays!
Please see my summary of yesterday below.
I thought another really positive performance boys, I thought we dominated for majority although I feel we lost a little bit of control in the second half with both teams chasing the game.
First half, I thought we had them really pinned back. Darcy and Micah, you both took the information on of staying high in possession excellently. That drove their wingers back and left their 9 alone with James and Moise who dealt comfortably for majority. I thought we played through the 1/3rds well.
As myself and Morgs touched on at half-time, I would've liked to see us use that switch more. I feel we often underhit these passes when we could've got in.
Defensively, I thought we were sound. We dealt with their directness and didn't really give them too many clear chances. The goal however is frustrating. That was probably the only time in the game one of you wasn't marking and they punished us. Again, when we squeeze, we must be aware of the 9 but also the pressure on the ball. When we squeeze, we must do so, knowing where the 9 is but also knowing thinking is there good pressure on the ball?
I thought we dominated the midfield for majority and Nath I thought you were a standout on Sunday. It was pleasing to see our back 4 punching through the lines.
Second half, I thought it turned a little bit into basketball. That suited them a lot more than us! We need to understand boys when we feel the game going this way, how can we get back control?
Slowing the game down
Taking the sting out of the game by getting back to moving the ball quickly
Someone being brave enough to get on the ball and get us playing again.
Not always going straight forwards when we win back possession.
These things can help us get back control in the game and get the tempo/control back where we want it.
Overall, I thought it was a good performance. I thought every sub came on and had an impact on the game in someway. Ramarn brilliant for the goal and Fletcher excellent follow up.
JJ, I thought you were excellent playing out and made an excellent save in the 2nd half.
