Good Morning Boys,

Hope we all enjoyed the rest of our Sundays?

Really disappointing one to go out yesterday, especially as I just felt we didn't get anywhere close to our best.

I actually thought we started the game extremely well, we were on top, moving the ball and creating chances. We pressed fantastically well and that nearly led to a goal when Max G nicked it. They really struggled to get out and we looked like we were starting to grow in confidence.

But, goals change games. The moment they scored, they got the momentum. We cannot give silly fouls in our half boys. Stand up and let them go home. I thought we found the the 2nd half of the first half tough. We didn't really link our passes well enough, we consistently played backwards and invited pressure. Learn from that boys as it was the same in the Old Wilsonians game. When you're under the cosh and the opposition have got a bit of momentum, refrain from consistently going backwards. James, Micah and Moise were getting so many touches of the ball. This allowed them to get up the pitch and really press us which we found difficult in that phase of the game.

On top of this, I thought back 4 after the goal we were SO deep. Massive pitch however, we must get up and squeeze it. Us staying in again gave their midfield so much space.

Their 2nd goal, Zechariah you have to learn from this playing as a full back. If the ball is rolling off of the pitch and they're putting pressure on you allow the ball to roll off instead of stretching to keep it on. This allowed them to nick it and then get their half chance which goes in.

2nd half I thought we dominated BUT didn't create enough. We had the two half chances with two fantastic balls from Zizi with excellent runs from Isaiah and the great free kick off the crossbar from Ramarn. If any of this end in a goal I honestly believe we would've went on to win it with the momentum. BUT again, we can't keep chasing games boys!!!

I thought we really struggled with the distances of the pitch and never really got used to it. We need to find that balance chaps and start recognising when we can drop it in behind like Zizi's passes. They aren't just a boot like what most other teams do, it's a longer pass. This stretches their back 4 and in time will create more space for our midfield. We must find that balance quickly.

Arthur, I thought you had a really positive game, well done.

Heads up boys, we still got the Kent Cup Quarters to look forward to and I believe the draw is on Thursday.

We also need to start putting some results on the board in the League as we're a lot lower than we should be!

Have a great week and see you all at the reviews.

Thanks

Ollie
