Yes boys!!

Another win before the break, really proud of what I’m seeing in training and hearing from games.

Below are some thoughts from Phil!

In games like these, it’s very important we don’t get drawn into how the opposition want to play end to end, a bit of a basketball match.

However, we did create some really good chances through linking and working our way up the pitch. This needs to be done more often, which would allow us to have more control of the game. We could have really been 3/4 goals up.

Although the first half was end to end, we battled well and won most of our duals.

Wide players I can’t stress enough, you need to work both ways up and down especially from two key areas:

When the defenders play Toby, it’s important you start adjusting your position, as you know we are going to use a link pass to get out the other side.

Help your defender out. At times there were situations where the full back was against two players that can’t happen, wide players.

The best players can affect the game both ways.

Defenders we held our line well at times, starting to use our depth and playing out the other side, well done. However, you must remember to offer depth to the wide players in attacking situations. Same side full back goes and joins in!

The intensity shown by Roman throughout the entirety of the game is the standard required for a unique player. Take note chaps, well done Roman you deserved your goal to win us the game!

We got the win in the end that’s two in a row.
