First Warrior U18 Game EVER!!!!!

This was a big step forward for Warrior Nation, our first ever U18 fixture. I had been nervous all week in anticipation of the occasion, my nerves were eased before the kick off when I saw how passionate and dedicated the girls were to the occasion.

It was fantastic to watch the girls out on the pitch playing for each other with application and skill. Conditions were tough due to temps in the mid to high 90's, yet this did not effect the effort and the first half produced some great team play that produces 3 well taken goals that settled the nerves and cemented the confidence of the girls.

The second half started slowly and 2 goals were conceded to rattle the nerves a little. These are the occasions when teams tend to implode and start to look at each other in a negative manner. The reaction to this adversity was probably the most pleasing part of the game for the coaches. The girls quickly re-gained their focus and finished the game playing the best football of the game scoring 3 more goals and conceding none.

This is a special bunch that encourages and celebrates their individual success as one...their future is bright!

Some tough challenges await and there is a lot of room for improvement. We will continue to diligently work on this as team of coaches and players and we could not wish to go on this journey with such an unselfish group of lady footballers!
