Excellent First Game For U14 Thunder!

Morning all! Really proud of the girls yesterday - tough playing in that late afternoon heat but I thought they did extremely well - especially for it being the opening game of the season! I think the final score was 3-0 or 4-0 but I tend not to pay too much attention to that. What I do watch closely are the effort levels and the style in which we play; both were very positive. In fact, Ceri, Matt and I all agreed that we might have scored the best team goal we’ve seen from any Warrior team - 6 pinpoint passes through space and to feet culminating with a fine finish from our Captain Courageous, Shea! All the girls played really

well but, happily, we were definitely rusty positionally (team shape) and shooting wise so there is so much improvement to come!

Special mention to our brand new players to the club - Kylie, Emily and Kira - I thought they did great and really picked up our playing philosophy quickly!

Cheers to you parents for getting them out there on time and supporting us so well. I would like us to start arriving at games a bit earlier (45 mins before kick off) from here on out as it really helps with the preparation.
