Home league match

In what I can only describe as a game of two halves. The lads started really sloppy at the beginning and struggled to find a hold of the game.

Forest Hall being the better team by far and keeping us pinned back in our own half for much of the first half.

0-0 at half time and a talk that I never wanted to have to do but the lads took it all on board and came out a totally different team in the second half. Winning everything, pushing forward, linking up really well and today's Captain, Jake Melia scoring a beauty to break the score. Then Forest Hall brought it back to 1-1. Game on and the lads pressed and pressed until debutant Lewis Miller capped of his first appearance with a well work goal. 2-1 Athletico. I could see that James Taylor was eager to get in on the act but I kept on telling him to stop back as he really put in a solid performance at the back but the lad still found a moment to rack up his 10th of the season and finish the game 3-1 to Athletico. Throughout the whole of the second half each and everyone of the lads could have taken the MOTM award but as I always do, I ask the other coach who gave it to Harvey Larner for his leadership of the Midfield that really stopped them from getting the ball out. Well done to all of the lads for battling until the final whistle and Well done to Harvey for getting MOTM.
