The visitors started strongly and dominated the opening exchanges of this entertaining Tandridge league match.
Hamsey seemingly keen to take the game to the home side pressed well and but couldn’t break down a resolute Foresters defence despite enjoying most of the play.
Against the run of play, Foresters took the lead on 7 minutes when Credland headed in superbly from a well taken Pickett corner. The goal seemed to affect the visitors as the home side grew in confidence, increasing their lead further on 34 minutes when Whitechurch’s cross was only half cleared before the ball fell to Pepper then Abbott who finished well from close range to make it a comfortable 2-0 Foresters half time lead.
The Foresters looked in complete control as the second half got underway but the visitors pulled a goal back on 41 minutes, a fine unstoppable individual strike that found the bottom left hand corner and Hamsey were back in the match.
The game now stretched saw with Foresters create several more good half chances before Hamsey levelled on 50 minutes from a long throw that wasn’t cleared and finally found the back of the Foresters net to make it 2-2 and ensured the points were shared.
This point was enough to ensure Tunbridge Wells Foresters runners up place, with a chance of the league championship and a cup final to look forward to there is still a lot of football left to play this season for Foresters.
