Tolbooth returned to action in the Barclay Cook Cup after progressing in the last round with a 6-0 victory over BSFC. Captain Smith returned to the starting line up, while Tolbooth also welcomed back Glennie and Shand.
A frantic start seen Simpson hit the outside of the Polska post with the first attack. Minutes later it was first blood to the away side, a clever passing move cut open Tolbooth with the supporting midfielder finishing passed Chapman one on one. Tolbooth created and spurned a number of opportunities for the equaliser, before on 17 minutes Buchan released Shand who finished into the bottom corner. Polska twice tested Chapman with strikes from the edge of the box, while the away goalkeeper prouduced a string of saves to deny Sean Keith, Shand and Buchan. On 41 minutes, Tolbooth finally got their noses in front after an excellent pass from Glennie was finished by Shand for the second of his day. Before the interval a 2 goal cushion was established, a Sean Keith corner caused mayhem in the away penalty area with Buchan quickest to react with a powerful finish. Tolbooth went in 3-1 up at the interval.
Into the second half the early stages was all Tolbooth. On 50th minutes the 4th Tbooth goal of the afternoon arrived, an excellent cross from Sean Keith found brother Scott Keith at the back post who tapped in. It was then a story of Tolbooth missed chances. Shand almost had his hatrick but he fired over from close range. Before Sean Keith was twice denied by the Polska goalkeeper and then seen a goal bound effort superbly cleared off the line. Tolbooth rung the changes and Michie was unlucky not to get in the act but his well uted strike was just a few inches too high of the cross bar. Polska themselves looked a threat in the final third and Chapman blocked well with his foot after a strike from inside the penalty area. On 85 minutes, Sean Keith finally got his name on the scoresheet. He was set free by Shand and beat the goalkeeper one on one. 5-1. Before the final whistle Polska pulled back a late consolation goal after a close range rebound after a strike off the post fell kindly.
