A massive 3 points up for grabs this morning and it didnt start well with 1 no show and 1 struck down with illness. However still with 16 players available we changed from last weeks formation to 352 with nick in goal a bk 3 of badger ryan and dosh, rougvie and a lucky jake was the wing bk's, hammon jonty and brunyee was the midfielder 3 with pip and jonni uptop. Left a good bench of ian andy moore medlock and new boy john.
We set off on the front foot and had a few chances to take the lead pip was unlucky from a free kick that the keeper saved well and against the run of play from an error from badger there lad puts haynook in the lead. We had to show character now going against the wind and up the slope and thats what we did. A great team move down the left with jake who pinged a lovely ball across clever dummy from pip left jonn 1 on 1 and he made no mistake putting it hard and low in the bottom left corner. Pip hit the bar with a effort rougvie put 1 down keepers throat so did jonni but finally the 2nd came from a free kick 20 yard out. Pip hit a clever free kick making it hit the wall to send the keeper wrong way genius. Nook had there moments as well in 1st half but the defence and keeper was solid and we took a deserved lead into half time.
2nd half we set off well again and it wasnt long in b4 we was awarded a stonewall pen for handball. pip made no mistake from the spot sending keeper wrong way and giving us a 2 goal cushion at 3-1. The game had become stretched and we conceded a 2nd by not clearing the ball 1st from dosh then from jake tbf was a good finish by there lad. Big 15 mins now and our 1st change came off come brunyee who was struggling having taken a blatent wack to his calfs that should have resulted in a red, ian came on to replace him. Not long after with just under 10 left we decided to shore things up and took an attacker off in jonni for a more defensive minded player in craig moore. last 5 mins wasnt good for me and alan squeaky bum time.................. final change to waste a bit of time was medlock on for jonty.
overall was a solid performance from start to finish we showed great character again from coming from behind to get summert out of the game. Big away day next week v thurcroft chance to go in top 6. utc
