Heartbreak In The End But Lots Of Positives

What should have been a squad of 18 turned into 15 by 10am. However it was a very good 15 lining up 352. Nick was in goal with sam dosh and ryan the bk 3. Conlon n josh was the attacking wingbacks with jonty alex n dukey the midfield 3. Parkey n jonni was the attacking 2. Left a decent bench of jake rougvie ian n brunyee.

We set off nervy and nook was in control and from a scrappy setpiece take the lead. They had a chance to double there lead when ryan lost possession 40 yard out but nick came to the rescue. This woke us up and we get going playing some good football and creating quite a few chances especially for parkey on his head but just couldnt get that bit of luck he needed. Eventually our play did get the reward when jonni banged 1 in hard and low giving there keeper no chance.

Both teams had a few half chances but couldnt capitalise and we went all square at half time.

2nd half we set off really well on the front foot and from a lovely delivery from jonni ball comes back off the post to josh 4 yard out who made no mistake.

We continued dominating creating good opportunities. 1st change came just after the hour mark with brunyee replacing dosh. We near put the game to bed but the woodwork kept haynook in it. After 5 week away dukey had nothing left and was replaced by spanky. Nook was still damgerous on counter and also had a few bk to bk corners but we dealt with them well. As the game entered last 10 mins we made a couple of mistakes 1st sam under hit a bk pass which nick won the 50/50 but then thought he was pele and tried go take other nook player on who won the ball and tapped it into an open net. We chucked everything at it last 10 throwing rougvie and ian on uptop but couldnt create that big chance.

Overall was pleased with every1s effort and contribution today on another day we win that game but a point away to 1 of your rivals is also decent. On to a big home game next week v maggies utc.
