Turf Out As Ttc Progress

<p>TTC went on there travells today in the 2nd round of the sheffield and hallamshire senior cup facing a tricky tie against undefeated handsworth tavern who according to there twitter page was looking to make it 6 straight wins out of there opening 6 games.

<p>As this game was played on 3g the manager decided it was best to rest a few players up and rotate the pack. After ryan and salty's ban had finished this cup game was the ideal opportunity to give both lads sum much needed game time after missing 2 months of football. So a change in formation on this huge pitch to 4231. Housley was in goal with arron ryan dosh n wayne making up the back four reynolds n dukey was the holding 2, Rougvie brunyee n salty was the midfield attacking 3 with coulthard leading the line. Left a strong bench of Jack Jake Callum ian n alan.

<p>We started off a slow with handsworth having alot of the ball and they had a early opportunity to take the lead only for there lad to hit it well wide. We started coming to terms with the 3g pitch and took control of the game playing some good football and creating some good chances but failed to make them count. Then against the run of play just before half time handsworth with a quick move down the left open us up and a good cross right across the 6 yard box saw there lad smash home giving housley no chance. There lead didnt last long as we pushed forward to get the equalizer and from bk to bk corners a great delivery from wayn saw phil come across his man to glance home in the far corner taking us into the break all level.

<p>2nd half we come out strong and within 5 mins we was infront a whipped ball in from salty and a bizarre flick on by wayne saw ryan head the ball home from close range. Turf had a good 5 minute spell making housley pull off a good save to his left , they had a few corners but we stood strong and weathered the little storm. We then hit them on the break sum good football and phils solo run round a couple of players and low finish gave us a well deserved 2 goal cushion. A few subs off came rougvie to be replaced by ian, callum came on in place of reynolds. We won a free kick about 25 yard out were wayne smashed home to put the tie to bed. Jack then replaced wayne and jake replaced aaron for the last 15 mins. the tempo of the game had slowed down with us knowing we had won and turf knowing they had lost. Al replaced dukey for the last 5 mins just so i could get is 2 quid subs.
