Grittty Effort V Fitz As Ttc Or Knocked Out Of Cup

<p>Going into this midweek round of 16 game Away to fitzwilliam arms i had 18 players that made themselve's available for selection which was unbeleivable for a midweek game. After long discussions with my assistant we lined up jamie in goal a bk 4 of ian ryan dosh alan, hammon n sean was the holding 2 with matty brunyee n jake the midfield attacking 3 with parkey leading the line. A very strong bench of jonni reynolds callum wayne n a welcome return from injury was squires.

<p>We set off slow and again looked nervy and showing too much respect to fitz we was nervous with the ball and too many of us was just giving ball away needlesly. But also fitz did set off the game really well and put us on bk foot and took the lead with a good team move and finish that jamie was very unlucky not to keep out with ball just creeping over the line after a great reaction save. Think this eventually woke us up and we started passing ball well and created a few chances and bk to bk corners. Our pressure finally was rewarded with a sublime goal by parkey chest turn volley wow keeper rooted to spot. The game was quite even after that till a couple of unlucky slips first from ryan then from dosh which resulted in a pen to fitz. There lad struck it well and jamie again was unlucky as he got a hand to it but the power was too much. 2-1 ht.

<p>2nd half we came out strong played some good football and had fitz on bk foot for large spells but failed to take a few chances and against run of play and long ball which was fitz outlet all game they make it 3-1 bit dissapointed in that goal thought we should have done better. Heads didnt go and we went in search of getting bk into game a triple change came to freshen things up off came al matty n hammon to be replaced by reynolds jonni n wayne. We had great chances to pull a goal bk parkey one one jake bk post chance also a goal mouth scramble but we just couldnt find the net which was unfortunate as we had fitz dropping deeper and deeper protecting there lead. Final 2 changes of the night saw callum n squires replace ian n jake for the last 10 mins.

<p>Overall except the 1st 20 mins thought we did well defo can do better but we did well. What pleased me the most was when we went 3-1 behind the heads didnt go we stuck together as a team and on another day could have scored the chances we had, showed some great team spirit and togetherness and this only can be good moving forward.

<p>The season is very much still alive with a semi final to play and a good chance in association cup too.
