Dogged Performance Leaves Club Smelling Like Daisies

Going into this midweek round 2 charity cup game we had 15 players available so lining up 4231 or 451 whichever you want to call it we had nicky in goal a bk 4 of ian dosh sam n jack, Jonty Shaun and dukey was the midfield 3 with josh n jonni on the wings left parkey leading the line. A strong bench of mel rougvie alex craig and al making up the 16.

we set off on front foot and just after 5 minutes parkey beat the offside trap from a lovely through ball from jonni rounding the keeper sat there incoming defender on floor and gave us a 1-0 lead !! We doubled our lead a few minutes later when from a goalmouth scramble ian found back of the net. Think this upset daisy and they really lifted there game and put us on back foot and we needed our keeper on more than 1 occasion to keep our 2 goal advantage pulling off a string of top class saves. Although we was on backfoot we still created a few chances with there keeper pulling off a couple of good saves and seany mac hitting bar from 40 yards out. We conceded with literally last kick off the half which was a big blow.

2nd half was similar to 1st half all daisy but with us being dangerous on counter. 1st change came straight swap alex on for shaun not muched changed in the pattern of play and with 20 left daisy got there equalizer now we had to dig deep a couple more changes saw mel replace josh and craig replaced jonty. With time running out and penalties looming both teams had late chances to win the game but it wasnt to be and penalties it was.

Jonni josh shaun dosh and sam was our 5 with 4 out of 5 scoring and nick saving 2 meant ttc progressed to the quarter finals in october.

Overall we was up against a very good side but our workrate togetherness and team spirit was 1st class and sometimes that gets you through the game and tonight it did well done boys great effort.
