After last weeks poor performance the gaffer was looking for a response this week. Staying with our usual 352 formation there was 2 changes to last weeks 11, Nick was in goal there was a new bk 3 of ryan dosh and ian, also a change in wing backs saw Wayne and phil take up that role. Reynolds hammon and jonty was the midfield 3 with inform pip and jonni leading the line. left a bench of andy gaz craig and bk after injury to the squad was parkey.
We set off well but our passing was letting us down a little we wasnt keeping the ball as well as we should. anston seemed happy to let us have ball and there main move was long quick to there strikers. We had a couple of good chances from ryan n jonni which there keeper saved really well . We was having a really good spell but was undone with a an awful own goal when ian tried to head it back to nick but got it all wrong and it looped over him into net. anston doubled there lead from a questionable offside were the game froze for a minute waiting for refs whistle that never came and anston made it 2-0. We was awarded a pen in the last minute of the half which wayne stepped upto take. And i can confirm the ball is still travelling.
going in at ht was 2 down was really harsh but we had to show a reaction 2nd half.
We was brilliant 2nd half the work rate and commitment was un questionable from every1.
Jonni scored a worldy free kick and a brilliant team move on the counter from an anston corner saw us level the scores badger stared the move down line to pip who put a wonderful ball into jonni who took 1 touch to control and 1 to finish it. With just under 15 left we freshened things up in the middle gaz replaced jonty and parkey replaced 2 goal mom jonni. The last 10 was a bit stretched both teams having chances to sneak the win. Andy replaced pip for the last 5.
overall i got the reaction i wanted from last week and thought we probably deserved 3 points but proud of every 1 today showed real character coming from 2-0 down to get a point.
With a few players away next week time for the squad to step up and be counted !!
