vs Halifax Amateurs

Away league match

The mighty thrum hall welcomed Halifax amateurs to the snake pit on what turned out to be a disappointing Tuesday night. The game started well with Hall playing some of their best football of the season, passing the ball nicely between themselves and working hard off the ball to close a decent amateurs side down and not allow them into the game.

The snakes struck first when man of the match Robbo smashed a long range effort towards goal which proved too awkward for the keeper to deal with and flew into the bottom corner. 1-0 up and in complete control the snakes were pressing for more goals and creating good chances with Robbo pulling the strings in the middle and the Majestic Casey patrolling the left side of the pitch and keeping the opposition winger firmly in his back pocket.

In typical thrum hall fashion they did not take their chances and were pegged back when Halifax amateurs broke forwards and scored an absolute screamer which Tapend in the Snakes goal could nothing about. At 1-1 and with the game in the balance Chief Snake Marcus decided it would be a good idea to take off Casey who was having a decent game and bring on David. The shocked gasps and cries of anger from the rest of the Thrum Hall players showed just what a retard decision that was and Marcus only has himself to blame for the result.

Once they’d gotten over the shock of losing their best player Thrum Hall pressed on and substitute David was in the right place to score after a deflection off a Halifax defender, causing Marcus to smugly turn around to Casey and gloat about how good his substitution was. What a prick he must of felt as Thrum Hall were then overrun on the left hand side that Casey had controlled so well in the first half and conceded 2 quick goals to make it 3-2. The snakes managed to drag themselves back into the game when David finished well to make it 3-3 but an own goal from Lucy (who still can’t cross) and another goal from the now vulnerable (thanks to Marcus) left side of Thrum halls defence meant the snakes went home disappointed with the result. Overall it was a performance thrum hall can be proud of and only some shocking refereeing and absolutely awful managerial decisions ruined the night. Up the Snakes
