Away league match
Thrum Hall were to face arguably there toughest challenge of the season to date, with a make shift team, and key squad members missing, it was always going to be an uphill struggle.
The squad arrived to a gloomy Calderdale college with strict instructions of giving 110% and non stop battling from the off. This was to prove effective when great challenges and tireless efforts from the back three made up of: Dale, Shep and Hembers stopped the Panda front line from breaking through early on. The Snakes midfield took control of the game with the wide men being utilised well by both Regan and Jaiden.
It was Thrum Hall who saw most of the action however strong defending from the Panda back line saw Miles struggle to get into the action. It was 15 minutes in when Thrum Hall had their break and opened the scoring. Regans through ball found the path off a great run from Casey who neatly slid it past the keeper into the bottom corner. 1-0.
Man of the Match Daniel Hoyle was then tested a few times from half decent efforts from the Panda strike force however struggled to prove successful. That was until the 30th minute when, in all honestly, I can’t really describe how but Tapend ended up throwing the ball in the net and laying down. 1-1.
Half time approached which saw Rick replace Jaiden who picked up a knock in the first half.
The second half saw Panda come out all guns blazing with a no nonsense approach forcing Thrum Hall to struggle getting a foot on the ball. Tasty challenges and high efforts from both sides suggested neither team would be in for an easy ride.
60 minutes in Henshaw replace and Dick of the Day Miles eventually called his game a day after taking a knock at the start of the second.
With Thrum Hall legs tiring and Panda’s resilience, a late flurry of goals in the last 20 minutes saw Panda come out the stronger side with the final result ending 4-1.
All in all Thrum Hall, who had by no means nothing to be ashamed of, took plenty of advantages from a disappointing result and plenty of notes to take into next weeks game.
