3 Against THE Best | THE TURF 3-8 EAST STANLEY

In a compelling cup tie held at the Delves Lane Community Association Pitch, The Turf faced East Stanley Wmc FC in a match that ended with a lopsided scoreline of 3-8 in favour of the visitors.

The game began with both teams sxoping each other out, seeing how each other played and how to deal with the opposition. But the match was soon kicked into gear with an early goal from the visitors, displaying their superior ability.

The opening goal set the stage for what would be the rest of the game as East Stanley continued to display their dominance on the match. However, despite their class on the pitch, the attitude of East Stanley was comparable to toddlers not getting their way, despite being so lethal on the ball in an embarrassing show of humility in victory.

Even with the poor show from East Stanley, The Turf kept their heads high and never gave up, even managing to score a hattrick of goals against one of the best teams in the district.

Despite the heavy defeat, Nick Dow was recognised as the standout player for The Turf FC, demonstrating commendable effort in goal amidst the barrage of shots from the opposition.
