Often teams dont live up to hype when they get promoted to a new division, but the fozzers took the bull by horns and kicked off their 2019 7's campaign in style with a dominating win over a below par Stella FC. From the outset the foz implemented a freestyle 2-3-1 formation with the young Jamal gask-Clarke (back from international duty with the Dominican republic) being allowed to roam forward and the industrial Sam Kirby holding the team like an anchor at the back. Kirby and Hughes were almost sin binned early on for a fracas with the opposing striker, however tempers soon calmed. Anoszczenko played a vital role alongside Hughes in the heart of midfield, with some excellent ballplay between the two. Reece Gask- Clarke had an outstanding game on the right wing, bagging two important goals and creating multiple other opportunities, we look forward to seeing more in future weeks. Holloway was a solid as ever in goal, with a few important saves but a few blunders which will need to be improved on next week. Scallon and Choudhury provided two different options from the bench, although slowing the game down, they did provide an unpredictability that allowed Choudhury to score one and have one disallowed, and Scallon to assist one. Scallon looked a lot more comfortable in this format of the game, and once he's learnt how to touch the ball, he'll be well on the way to replicating the success of his hero, Sam Amadou Gremayoko Mitchell. The man has it all, charm , good looks , charisma, but most of all , a firmly decent left peg. 2 well taken goals and a calmly put away penalty, this young monster looks to be the league's leading light for the foreseeable future.
