What a game! We were quietly confident going into this game that we'd get a deserved win and it's fair to say we could have got one if luck had been on our side.
Tansley played extremely well for the first 10 minutes or so. Creating a heap of chances before conceding to a good long range finish, but quickly responding with a very good curved effort from Alfie. His first of 3 in the match. Once again, we let the opposition back into the game with a few defensive errors and ended the 1st half 4-1 down.
We conceded another early goal in the second half and went to 5-1 down. Although, Tansley responded really well again with 2 more goals from Alfie and one from Liam. Another 2 goals for Wirksworth hampered Tansleys comeback when our players got a bit carried away with attacking and forgot their defensive duties. Just before the final whistle Finlay got us another deserved goal. To make the final score 7-5. Although, I really feel this is a game we could have won on another day.
Really happy with the performance overall and the spirit of the team to keep going and trying to ground out a result they deserved.
