Away league match
The Golds traveled down to Prestwick to face Glenburn in there first meeting of the season. Starting in a 2-3-1 formation and without goalkeeper Michael Mullen who unfortunately sustained a broken finger during last weeks game against Cumnock and will be out for a number of games and only 1 substitute available the Golds held off the attacks from a strong Glenburn team and took the lead in the game from 2 outstanding goals from Cole Borthwick both coming from corner kicks.
The Golds were kept in the game with some outstanding saves from stand in keeper Phoenix McCutheon, who demonstrated his ability to not only be a quality outfield player but goalkeeper as well.
Going into the second half the lack of subs meant for heavy legs going towards the end of the second half.
There was some good plays put in but unfortunately the players were burning out against the stronger Glenburn team, although Phoenix McCutheon kept the score line down with some perfect saves and great distribution work.
Well done to all the players today they tried their best and should be proud of how they performed under the pressure.
Golds would like to wish Glenburn a good season ahead and look forward to the return game.
