Following on from last week’s victory, Sofca were up for this game despite nursing several hangovers from the manager’s birthday party Saturday night/Sunday morning.

They arrived at Dulwich mud flats, aka Sporting Crabs home ‘pitch’ still in good ‘spirits’, not to mention beer and shots.

The match kicked off with Sofca carrying on from last week, and immediately putting pressure on the Crabs goal, missing 3 or 4 scorable chances in the first 10 minutes.

Crabs did mount a few attacks, and went 1-0 up on 13 minutes. Crabs got more into the game, but the chances continued to come for Sofca, missing 2 from point blank range, and Crabs brave goalkeeper saving 2 more from the feet of Sofca’s attackers.

On 20 minutes Ben D was spectacularly upended by a Crabs defender, and looked to be seriously injured, but after a couple of minutes was fit again to resume albeit shaken(if not stirred).

Sofca continued to press and in the 28th minute got the equaliser when the brave Ben D, met Harry’s pass to score.

Shortly after that Ben the trunch was unceremoniously upended again near the spot and a penalty was awarded. Duncan’s spot kick failed to trouble the keeper and went wide of the right post.

The match was a bit more open now and Sofca missed more good chances, another open goal and 2 more saves from the feet from Crabs keeper. At the other end Dave White had to make a couple of excellent saves to deny Crabs, and the teams went in at 1-1, although if some players had brought their shooting boots Sofca would have been 5-1 up.

The second half began, and a defensive mistake from Sofca let Crabs in to score with their first attack.

The away team continued to press without reward, again denied by Crabs keeper.

In a tactical substitution on 62 mins Alex was brought on for Phil, and Ben D moved into attack. More chances were made but again the home keeper kept them out.

At the other end Dave White had to make a couple more excellent saves to keep Crabs out, despite carrying a shoulder injury.

Jon B came on for John E with 74 minutes on the clock, and Sofca continued pressing for the equaliser. It finally came on 80 mins with the ever consistent Harry firing in the hard working Duncan’s cross .

Both sides tried for a winner but the only winner today was the quagmire pitch. On another day it might have been 10-3 to Sofca, but both keepers had excellent games. The consistent Harry, got man of match today, but was closely pressed by Duncan and Preston.
