The Lions' last chance at silverware for the season vanished in the first half of a game, where we dominated the early exchanges but got sucker-punched by an unfortunate own goal by Joe and then two poorly conceded ones before the break. Max got back on the scoresheet for the first time since early December to get us back in it but another Woolpack goal sealed the game for them, before Dan's late consolation.
It was the story of our season, lots of first half chances, with none of them finding the net and giving goals away on the counter to leave ourselves too much to do in the second half. In addition, the injury and absentee list is piling up and we are barely able to get a match-day squad together. We actually had to forfeit our next league game against Ditton Dynamo as we only had 6 players available. Probably just as well that this season only has 3 more games for us. Would be nice to get a few more points to take us up to double figures in the league. It can be done, just need a bit more confidence and luck in front of goal.
