First competitive game of the season in the Grill League Cup against a Rothie team that beat us twice last season ended in a disappointing 4-0 loss.
In a game where we never really got going, Rothie opened the scoring in the 25th minute when M. Taylor slotted in a low shot in the bottom right hand corner after some good work on the left wing. Rothie then doubled the lead on the 33rd minute after the were first to react to a good save from Zac.
4 mins into the 2nd half Rothie scored their third goal after they were allowed a free header 6 yards out from a corner. Our best chance to get something back came from good work from Tosh on the left wing when he managed to get past his man and crossed the ball in low and early where Reece was just inches away from slotting it away.
Rothie scored their 4th in the 78th Min but in reality created many other good chances to extend the lead further.
All the best to Rothie for the rest of the season, and to M.Taylor who was our top scorer last season and who has moved to Rothie in the Off-Season.
In the other Grill League match in our mini-league East End beat Glentanar 5-2. We face Glentanar on Saturday in our 2nd Grill Cup League game.
