2nd Match of the Grill League Cup as we faced Glentanar at home, we played them last year in the Dominos Cup where we beat them 6-4 but with only 5 players in our squad from that previous game it is a much changed team that faced them today.

Stoneywood got off to a great start as a long ball from Andy Simmond found Curtis on the right wing, who went to the bye-line where a low fast cross resulted in a Glentanar defender putting it past his own keeper to put Stoneywood 1-0 up.

Stoneywood kept the pressure on and in the 17th min the referee had a decision to make after a long ball again caused problems for Glentanar. Curtis managed to outpace their defense as their keeper came rushing out of his box, it looked like Curtis managed to touch the ball past the keeper before the keeper clattered into him as the ball went out of play but not according to the ref who signaled just for a corner.

In the 37th Min another long ball led to Zimmi being one on one with the keeper and although he managed to lob the keeper it just went wide.

Half time came where Stoneywood dominated but only held a slender 1-0 lead.

Jordan, in the 56th min won the ball in midfield and played a lovely lobbed pass through the middle where Curtis managed to control and score into the bottom right hand corner, to put Stoneywood 2-0 up.

After this Glentanar made some changes and came more into the game and in the 60th minute after some fine work around Stoneywood box had a shot from 18 yards saved by Daniel.

Glentanar continued getting back in the game and had 2 late chances including a 1 on 1 with the keeper which both went wide.

In the 90th minute Daniel sent a long ball into the Glentanar half and after an unfortunate slip by a defender the ball ended up at Curtis who scored his 2nd after slotting into the bottom right hand corner.

The game finished 3-0 and signaled our first competitive victory in nearly 5 month, and our first clean sheet in over a year.

In the other game in our Group Rothie Rovers defeated Aberdeen East End 4-3.

We face Aberdeen East End at Home on Tuesday @ 19:30, we faced them 3 times last season losing all 3 times.

All the best to Glentanar for the rest of the season who we will meet again twice in the League.
