Saturdays match saw us travel to Falkirk's Sunnyside pitches on league duty. Despite asking the boys to get out the blocks quickly it was another sluggish start from us. Our hosts were hungrier and more aggressive in the opening stages and took the lead in the first 5mins. A failure to communicate in our defence saw our keeper collide with a backtracking centre half and the ball spilled for Falkirk to tap home. For the next 20mins we got sucked into a long ball battle and weren't playing our football.

It took us unitl the last 15mins of the first half to start making chances. And we got back on terms from a penalty after Shay was played through and clipped from behind in the act of shooting. Dan took the resultant penalty and finished well.

At half-time we made a couple of changes - Tyler and Adam coming on to make immediate impacts - and asked the boys to compete better for second balls and shorten our game in the attacking half. Within 5mins Dan gave us the lead with a sharp finish following an Angus corner which Kai P flicked on. And quickly after Shay made it 3-1 after a good pass from Tyler.

Max got the 4th his play deserved with a cracker - 1-2 around 25yrs out then volleyed home into bottom corner. He then made it 5-1 doing well to poke home a cross, before Dan completed the scoring, and his 2nd hattrick in 8 days, with a terrific drive from 25yrds. Much better from us 2nd half and we look forward to putting together an 80minute perfomance in the coming weeks.

MOTM

First half there were only one or two contenders close to their usual levels - however 2nd half Tyler, Adam and Dan with another hattrick all impressed. Max was one of those who gave an 80minute performance - as well as adding a couple of goals 2nd half so MOTM goes to Max - great start to the season for him.
