First league game of the season as we visited newly promoted Cambuslang. Over the piece it's a tough result to take as we were dominant for the last 55/60 mins but the early season habits of missing great chances and leaking cheap goals came back to haunt us. The hosts started the game really well and their intensity and aggression was better than ours for the guts of the first half. Credit to the Cambuslang boys who were snapping into tackles and winning 2nd balls. Although we weren't conceding chances we were off our levels for most of that first half.

The first goal comes from our mistake when we don't clear a ball and try to shepherd back to the keeper only for the Cambuslang forward to nick in and poke home. Despite a poor concession we took the game to Cambuslang in the remainder of the half but our final ball or shot wasn't quite right to grab the equaliser.

At half time we reminded them we needed to move the ball quickly on a tight park, and win our personal duals - and the lads were excellent in the 2nd half. Wave after wave of attack with some lovely 1-2 touch football but Cambuslang were defending really well and chasing everything. We'd missed a couple of one on ones with keeper before Cambuslang got their 2nd about 15/20mins into 2nd half against the run of play. From our perspective it was a soft one but our defender did have two hands up as he won a header with no real danger from a throw in.

We again went back on the front foot - Dan finally grabbed the goal our play deserved when he finished a good team move. Shortly afterwards he hit the post, and Tyler, Callum and Adam all had shots just wide or over. A couple of free headers didn't find their mark either and it was clear it wasn't going to be our day.

Big shout out to our hosts today who worked their socks off to get their 2nd positive result across the first 2 league games. All game they were aggressive, pressed hard and looked to create a threat through quick direct play. A good addition to the league.

From our side it's very close to clicking. We're playing some really good stuff in games but just not making the chances count. At the other end we've conceded 7 goals across 5 games - all preventable from our perspective so we'll be doing some work on that. The shot counts across the early season games are very much in our favour but only that final scoreline matters so we need to keep working hard and sharpen a few things.

Big positives today were the introductions of Jamie and Adam to the team. Great to add to the squad.

MOTM - 2nd half today the lads were excellent - and much of that started with Adam making his debut on the wing at half-time. He was positive, direct and good on the ball. Creating lots of good openings for the team.
