The SSAFC got a perfect response from the hammering at Gillingham to gain a decent victory against West Ham on what turned out to be a nice sunny morning at Ridlins.
It was West Ham who started brightest and put on early pressure on the SSAFC backline but found the defence solid and dealt with the danger.
Brown was forced into a fine save low to keep out the ball before the SSAFC had their first real effort when they got a penalty for handball but the resulting penalty was saved low.
From the resulting corner, the ball wasn't cleared and the cross found an unmarked Barker who's header went wide. Both sides weren't causing much problems for either keeper but the deadlock was broken when a curled cross from Daniel Swales found Dan Ridley who's header floated in with the aid of a deflection to make it 1-0.
Brown then made some good saves to keep West Ham at bay but the game was a midfield battle with West Ham having most of the ball but not creating alot before the half time whistle went.
The second half started slowly with both sides looking to create something. Devall who was making his returned has a good effort saved when he worked well with the also returned Danny Court and his effort was well saved.
The SSAFC got their 2nd goal when once again a corner was the downfall for West Ham and Rowe floated a ball in for Teale to head in from 6 yards out!
West Ham then had a golden chance when their striker was put in on goal but Brown done superbly to block the shot before Barker cleared the danger. Brown then tipped a shot wide before claiming the resulting corner.
The SSAFC got their third when Teale picked up the ball from 40 yards out and put in a lovely ball which found the onrushing Jackson who cleverly headed over the advancing keeper to make it 3-0.
It ended on a sour note for Jackson who found himself sent off after kicking out after being swiped with the WH player being booked. Devall then got his marching orders for a silly foul in a game which really didn't have a single bad tackle before then! The SSAFC had to see out the remaining few minutes before the whistle went to seal a good result.
