The SSAFC picked up a tough 5-3 win this morning in Watford in a game played in a great spirit on a massive 4G pitch.
The SSAFC started the brightest and the first chance fell to Dutton on the left who's shot went wide. Dutton then had another effort miss the target. The SSAFC then took the lead with a classic route one goal when the goal kick was flicked on by Bradshaw into the path of Swales who smashed home.
Watford then got a reply when a lovely through ball split the defence and their striker slotted home. Watford then got another goal when the ball wasn't cleared properly and the ball found an unmarked man who's shot was deflected in.
With the SSAFC looking to get back into the game, Teale had a free kick tipped wide before the goal finally came and it was Dutton on the left hand side who was slid through by Woolf and his low cross found Bradshaw who smashed home from a tight angle!
The second half started fantastically for the SSAFC and they took the lead when a deep cross found Bradshaw who's header across was put in by the debutant Luke Mole!
The SSAFC then doubled their advantage and it was Mole who made the chance when a lung busting run found him on the byline and his cut back found a rushing Bradshaw who slotted home from 10 yards out to make it 4-2.
Watford put some pressure on but found a strong backline in the SSAFC and Campbell in goal making no mistakes. Watford then got back into the game after a defensive mixup with Woolf being dispossessed in the middle and their midfielder curled an effort in.
The SSAFC then made sure when Lawson chased down a long ball and beat the keeper to it with the ball falling to Swales who passed the ball into an empty net to seal the game for the SSAFC!
