Collins Is Cream Of The Crop As SSAFC Continue Good Form

<p>On what was a wet Saturday morning in Hertfordshire, The SSAFC carried on their good form with a very good performance and result to match.

<p>The SSAFC started brightly and on the front foot with some good early pressure, Chesworth having an effort straight at the keeper after a lovely build up. Devall then had a fantastic overhead kick tipped brilliantly onto the bar from the keeper. The SSAFC looked to dominate on what was a big pitch so looked to use the wings to their advantage with Collins firing at the keeper.

<p>The SSAFC took the lead when a fantastic build up play from the back spread the ball wide and Carroll whipped in a beautiful cross to find Collins with the easiest of tasks of heading into an empty net, a fine goal and great build up play! The SSAFC could have then doubled the lead when Carroll was one on one with the keeper but his shot was well saved after Devall's brilliant work on the right hand side!

<p>The second goal then came when good play from Deards in the box found himself with space and his cross found Collins who tapped in to make it 2-0. It didnt last long as Watford reduced the lead when a poor pass from Dutton released their striker who slotted past the advancing Bell in goal. A silly mistake to make. Watford then got a break when they were awarding a penalty, a soft decision but understandable. The striker sent Bell the wrong way to make it 2-2. The hard work of the SSAFC undone in a matter of minutes and Watford had their tails up with Bell making some good saves just before the break. Dutton looking to make up for his earlier effort had a 40 yard striker tipped over, an unlucky effort as it was sweetly hit!

<p>The second half started well with the SSAFC looking to get back into the game and started well with Deards & Devall having efforts go wide. The game was a midfield battle with both sides making mistakes and not keeping possession. A Watford corner nearly found the net but Tutton somehow cleared the ball off the line straight to Bell to clear up. It took a bit of class to make it 3-2 with Devall, Deards & Collins linking up well with Deards firing home into the low right hand corner. The SSAFC defence stood firm with Captain Barker & Chesworth mopping up any danger.

<p>The 4th came when good play on the right from Wedge found Weston in the middle and his lovely curled pass found Devall who was in and poked it past the advancing keeper to seal the game for the SSAFC. The SSAFC saw out the rest of the game with ease to make it 2 wins from 2 in 2016.
