The SSAFC sealed their place in the London Cup final with an extremely tough 3-2 win Saturday morning over at Ridlins on what was a poor muddy pitch which didnt suit a passing game.

The SSAFC started on the back foot with Maidstone looking to press early and the first effort of the game went to Maidstone but the effort was chipped wide. Maidstone took the lead with a well worked goal, Brown making a good save but only able to parry it into their striker who slotted home despite the best efforts of Teale on the line. The SSAFC had to get back in the game and pick up their performance and did, A lovely cross from Teale was narrowly headed over by a Maidstone defender. The resulting corner from Dutton swung in found Wedge but his header was well saved by the Maidstone keeper.

Luke Deards then had a golden chance when good play from Jeorge Wedge released Deards who sprung the offside trap but his chipped shot went narrowly over the bar. Brown then made 2 good saves, one coming from a long range effort and the other, a wonderful save down low which ended up injuring Brown but not serious enough to come off. The SSAFC then got level when good passing play from Teale & Wedge released Teale who smashed home from 18 yards to make it 1-1 just before the half time break.

The game was a real battle for possesion with both sides looking to gain the upper hand, Devall having a good chance but his touch was wasteful and the chance gone! Devall was in the action again when good play on the right found Wedge and his effort was deflected over. Maidstone then re-took the lead when a long free kick wasnt dealt with by Dutton and the cross in somehow evaded Barker for their striker to tap in, another cheap goal to give away from the SSAFC.

The SSAFC got level however when good play in the middle found Wedge on the left who skipped one challenge before getting brought down in the box. Penalty! Teale sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 2-2. The game could have swung either way with Maidstone missing a few chances and the SSAFC not being ruthless in front of goal. With extra time luming, Teale managed to seal his hat-trick and the game when a long clearance from Brown found Teale after a defensive mix up and he managed to lob the keepr into the net to send the SSAFC into the final.

Maidstone pushed on but the SSAFC defence managed to hold on and seal the result needed which now puts the SSAFC in the final where they will meet another new side in Brentford!
