The SSAFC kept up their good form with a comfortable 2-0 win this morning on what was a very bumpy Ridlins pitch so will be pleased with the result and performance to match.

The SSAFC started on the front foot and looked to dominate on a pitch which didnt suit a quick passing game and had the first chance when Teale's quick feet got him a chance but was well saved by the Hampton keeper. The SSAFC piled on the pressure but the Hampton defence stood firm. Deards having an effort go wide and Brown toepoking an effort just wide. Carroll then whipped in a lovely low cross which was well cleared for a corner. The corner came in and Barker headed goalwards and Teale hooked the ball just over.

Hampton then had a counter attack but Rowe cleared with his feet. The backline of Barker & Chesworth mopped up any real attack and was solid at the back, it was a case of breaking the Hampton backline and it happened right at the end of the first half when a poor goal kick went straight to Teale who set himself up and hit it on the volley straight into the net! A great strike from that man Teale!

The second half started like the first with the SSAFC starting brightly, Bell smashing a shot high and wide from a corner and Swales having a golden chance well saved from close range. The SSAFC started creating chances with Foster having an effort go just wide after good play from him on the left and Teale having a curling effort go narrowly wide.

It just didnt seem like the 2nd was going to come as the pressure was building but finally the 2nd came when good play from Teale realised Deards who beat a player to the byline and sent in a lovely low cross which found an onrushing John Carroll who slotted cooly into the bottom corner with his less favoured right foot! A good finish!

The SSAFC were looking to add to their tally and Swales again came close when his header hit the post and roll on the line until it got cleared off and Teale wasted a good chance chipping straight at the keeper. Hampton then had a good chance but Chesworth's pressure forced the ball over the bar in what was the last real attack of the game with the job done for the SSAFC & another clean sheet to add to the tally as the full time whistle went.
