Home league match
After defeat in their opening two games Paget came to Evans Park and left with the deserved three points and Stafford can again only have themselves to blame after some woeful defending.
Some nice link up play on the Paget left wing resulted in a whipped delivery across the Town six yard box and facing his own goal centre back Matt Dudley tried to get a log to the ball and somehow deflected it past the stranded George Hill and into the net for 0-1. Just two minutes later and the lead was doubled as Max Turner let fly from fully 25 yards and George Hill could only watch it pass him into the top corner.
Town finally came to life and responded with an attack of their own culminating with Rey Carbon firing into the hands of visiting keeper Dylan Mandaracas. Paget then went straight down the other end attacking the left flank. Euan Kemp beat his marker and cut the ball back for Max Turner to slot home and make it 0-3 before half time.
The introduction of Charlie Swingwood at half time saw an improved tempo to Staffords play and they restarted brightly creating several decent attempts on the Paget goal. Ten minutes in and Nathan Scott tried his luck with a direct free kick from circa 30 yards that somehow went passed all the bodies in the box and into the bottom corner. In truth the keeper will be disappointed to have conceded like that after some very good previous denials.
That was as good as it got for the hosts and they were left ruing another poor performance in front of their own support.
