St George's College 2nd XI extended their winning run by coming from behind to beat RGS 6-5 in their friendly encounter.
After making one change to the starting line up, Will Gray returning to replace Marco Rolandelli, St George's looked to overcome their defensive woes that have become all too familiar in the opening 10 minutes.
St George's did not achieve this, however, and found themselves 3-0 down within the opening 20 minutes courtesy of some uncertainty inside the box.
No matter, though, as Tom Mason was on hand to calmly slot home after minutes of constant pressure from the home side.
With half time approaching everyone was wondering where the next goal was going to come from and, in added time, debutant Max Longhurst finished from close range after a couple of blocks on the line.
Going into the break St George's were now on top and they looked to press home their advantage in the opening stages of the second half.
Sure enough the equaliser came from returning senior player Gray, scoring an unbelievable free kick that'll never be forgotten.
St George's could see the win now and worked harder than ever to find that fourth goal and, once again, it came from a debutant; centre back Harry Martin with the header from a Longhurst cross.
With over twenty minutes remaining, however, all was not done and RGS, very commendably, fought back to equalise themselves.
Despite this, St George's were not going to give up that easily and regular first team forward, Danny Borgman was the next man to find the net for the Addlestone team, once again assisted by Max Longhurst.
And still it wasn't over, with RGS now being forced back into their own half continuously and, after a string of clearances off the line, the ball fell to St George's midfielder Jamie Orr and he took his tally to three goals from three games.
But there was still one more twist to the tale, as, with seconds remaining, St George's conceded another penalty and, although keeper and captain George Lanigan guessed the right way, it was very well converted to end the game a 6-5 victory for St George's 2nd XI.
A brilliant performance from every individual on the pitch however St George's sheer determination led them to continuing their winning run.
The numbers from 2017 show just how strong the team is as an attacking unit, four games, three wins, 21 goals scored and 14 goals conceded.
The team should be very proud of their performance today and should look to build on this in future matches.
