Home league match
Following the success of last year's fixtures St George's once again hosted Reading Blue Coat School in a 1st and 2nd XI double clash.
St George's 2nd XI were hoping to carry on their remarkable run of form that has seen them win every match since the beginning of January. It would also be a sign of how much they have improved in just 12 months if they were to improve on the 3-3 result they took from the same fixture last year.
It was, however, not meant to be as, despite taking the lead inside two minutes, Blue Coats battled back and gave St George's a great fight with the score eventually ending an all too familiar 3-3.
St George's goals came from Marco Rolandelli, who returned after a very successful stint with the 1st XI, Leon Allos, sparking a spectacular return to form with a superb strike and Harry Martin who made a great run forward from centre back to collect his second goal in as many games.
St George's may have some regret from this game as they came close to scoring many times with the opposition clearing off the line thrice. Nevertheless finishing hasn't been a problem for a side that has scored in every single game they have played so they should not be too worried going forward.
With only two games left before this team becomes St George's 1st XI, they should be very proud of a year that has seen them lose only twice.
